STATUS AND ORGANIZATION

With the authorization of the Ministry of Education of Guatemala, the American School of Guatemala functions as a private, laboratory School under the auspices of the Foundation of the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala.  The Foundation of the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala was founded on 1972 as a self-perpetuating, non-profit organization which pursues its goals through the American School of Guatemala and other institutions.  The Executive Committee of The Foundation appoints the Board of Directors of the School and approves the School’s annual budget.

The Foundation delegates responsibility to an appointed Board of Directors to determine the School’s policies; to ensure the execution of these policies; to safeguard the financial autonomy of the School; and to evaluate its performance as an educational institution.

ESTATUS Y ORGANIZACIÓN

Con la autorización del Ministerio de Educación de Guatemala, el Colegio Americano de Guatemala funciona como una Escuela Laboratorio privada, bajo el auspicio de la  Fundación de  la Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. La Fundación de la Universidad del Valle de Guatemala fue fundada en 1972 como una organización auto-perpetua, no lucrativa, la cual alcanza sus metas a través del Colegio Americano de Guatemala y las demás instituciones que la integran.  El Comité Ejecutivo de la Fundación designa a la Junta Directiva del Colegio y aprueba el presupuesto anual del Colegio.

La Fundación delega responsabilidades a una Junta Directiva designada para definir las políticas del Colegio, asegurar el cumplimiento de las políticas, salvaguardar la autonomía financiera del Colegio y evaluar su desempeño como una institución educativa.
