Academic Honesty

Academic honesty is an essential aspect of the values of CAG and all students are expected to learn and follow the norms supporting this value.

Violations of academic honesty include the following:

  1. Plagiarism or the copying of published works or parts of work from books, magazines, pamphlets, as well as materials in software and on the Internet, and presenting it as one’s own work.
  2. Translating from one language to another without citing proper references.
  3. Using or being in possession of notes or any type of unauthorized materials during an exam.
  4. Copying or using another student’s work or test.
  5. Giving or requesting unauthorized help, such as allowing another student to copy one’s own work or exam paper.

Students who fail to follow rules of academic honesty will be disciplined and their grades will be affected.  Repeated offenses will result in expulsion from School.

Personal Integrity

All students are expected to be honest in their relationships and dealings with others.  Acts of personal dishonesty, including stealing, lying and falsification of documents, will be disciplined.

Theft

The taking and/or using of any object without the knowledge or consent of the owner is considered theft, and is prohibited.  Theft also includes hiding possessions of others as a joke or trick.  Violations of this policy will result in serious disciplinary measures, including expulsion.

Honestidad Académica

La honestidad académica es un aspecto esencial de los valores del CAG y todos los alumnos deben aprender y seguir las normas que apoyan este valor.

Las violaciones a la honestidad académica incluyen lo siguiente:

  1. Plagio o copia de publicaciones,  libros, revistas, panfletos, materiales en “software” e Internet,  para presentarlos como trabajos propios.
  2. Traducir de un idioma a otro sin hacer mención de la referencia bibliográfica.
  3. Utilizar o poseer notas o cualquier tipo de materiales no autorizados durante un examen.
  4. Copiar o utilizar el trabajo o examen de otro alumno.
  5. Dar o solicitar ayuda que no esté autorizada, tal como permitir a otro alumno copiar su propio trabajo o examen.

 

Se tomarán las medidas disciplinarias para los alumnos que no sigan las reglas sobre la honestidad académica y sus calificaciones se verán afectadas.  Repetidas faltas a las reglas resultará en la expulsión del Colegio.

Integridad Personal

Todos los alumnos deben ser honestos en su relación y trato con las demás personas.  Se sancionarán los actos de deshonestidad personal, incluyendo robos, mentiras y falsificación de documentos.

Robo

La posesión y/o uso de cualquier objeto sin el conocimiento o consentimiento de su propietario es considerado robo, y está prohibido.  El robo también incluye esconder los objetos de otras personas como un acto de broma o travesura.  La violación a esta política traerá como consecuencia serias medidas disciplinarias, incluyendo la expulsión.
