Students and Forbidden Substances

Alcohol and mood altering substances

Students are strictly forbidden to bring to School, or to have in their possession any alcoholic substance or other mood altering substances; to make use of any such substance on school grounds or school activities; or to attend school or school activities under the influence of alcohol or any other mood altering substance.  Violations of this policy will result in serious disciplinary measures, including expulsion.

Use of alcohol and other drugs off campus

If there is credible information that an American School student is abusing alcohol or drugs off campus, it is the responsibility of the school administrators to notify the parents of the students involved.  If such substance use continues, the School directors are authorized to make decisions to protect the welfare of other students and the School’s standing in the community.  Students are not permitted to bring, possess or use any tobacco products at school, on school buses, or at activities organized and supervised by the School.

Alumnos y Sustancias Prohibidas

 Alcohol y otras substancias que alteran el estado de ánimo

Se les prohibe a los alumnos traer al Colegio cualquier sustancia alcohólica o drogas, hacer uso de dichas sustancias en las instalaciones o actividades del Colegio, o venir al Colegio bajo la influencia de alcohol o cualquier otra droga.  La violación a esta política resultará en serias medidas disciplinarias, incluyendo expulsión.

Uso de Alcohol y otras drogas fuera del campus

Si existe información veraz y verificable que un alumno del Colegio Americano de Guatemala está abusando del uso de alcohol o drogas fuera del campus, es responsabilidad de los administradores del Colegio notificar a los padres de familia de los alumnos involucrados.  Si el uso de dichas sustancias continua, los Directores del Colegio están autorizados a tomar decisiones para proteger el bienestar de los demás alumnos y la reputación del Colegio en la comunidad.  No se permite que los alumnos traigan, posean o utilicen cualquier producto de tabaco en el Colegio, buses o actividades organizadas y supervisadas por el Colegio.
