Dear Parents,
Welcome to the American School of Guatemala’s Kindergarten and Grade 1 application and admissions information center. We have streamlined our applications and admissions process for the Early Childhood Section to ensure that we balance the needs of young children and their families with the needs of the school. You are welcome to make an appointment to visit the school. However, we recommend that you wait until your child is three years old, so that you can better appreciate the special attention we give to our younger students.
We hope that you find this website helpful and easy to use. On it you will find an Application Calendar, and an outline of procedures for application, as well as the Application Form and Parent Questionnaire. These forms, plus a Letter of Solvency from your child’s current school, are mandatory in the application process. As well, we have included the Pre-School/School Recommendation Form, which is necessary ONLY AFTER a child have been selected to continue in to the screening phase of the application process. This Recommendation Form and the most recent Report Card should be sent by the child’s school to CAG, in October before the screening.
For families, who have previously applied (within the past 3 years), there are procedures outlined and forms to help you update your application. There is also a link to the Enrollment Forms and additional procedures, for children once they have been selected for admissions to CAG. The procedures are outlined below and should be followed carefully. It should be noted that applying does not guarantee admissions.
Once an application has been made, it is the parent’s responsibility to remain in contact with the school and visit the website regularly for information updates. Parents should also contact the school immediately, if any information changes occur such as changes of phone numbers, emails, and addresses. If we can not contact you, we will assume that you are no longer interested in CAG, and we will withdraw your child's name from our application process.
