Gap Year

A gap year is a time, after high school, to explore interests before embarking on university coursework for another four years or more. A gap year can be tremendously beneficial to some students as a time to reflect, explore, learn, travel, and focus. It is a time to build self-confidence and independence, while maturing and preparing to start college refreshed and committed to academics.

Colegio Americano de Guatemala recommends that Seniors apply to universities in the fall of their final year of high school, and later decide if they would like to participate in a gap year
