The Endowment Fund was established in 2017 by the Board of Trustees for the purpose of sustaining our school as a vibrant, world-class educational institution over the long term. Many of the world's best schools have endowment funds, founded through the generosity of donors, which enable the school to stay at the forefront of education through the interest from this funding for key innovations and programs. It is our aspiration that the Endowment Fund will play a similar, strategically important role in shaping the future development of CAG.
The Endowment Fund belongs to the future generation of CAG students. Interest generated from the Fund will support the Young Scholars Academy program.
An endowment is a dedicated source of long-term funding to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of CAG and ultimately to reduce the school´s dependence on tuition and fees to fund program enhancements.
Many endowments are structured to exist in perpetuity, meaning that CAG must continue to rely on the endowment´s earnings in the future. In future years, these funds will provide a regular income and the long-term stability offered by capital savings.
Connected with a long legacy of philanthropy and tradition of impact education in Guatemala, the endowment supports the Young Scholars Academy (YSA). This scholarship program attracts the best and brightest students in Guatemala who cannot access CAG education without financial assistance.
Interest generated from the Fund will support the Young Scholars Academy program.
CAG´s mission remains the same as when it was established in 1945. But the world has changed, we must reimagine and enhance existing spaces on campus and create new, flexible ones that support our students, faculty, and our community to improve the experience for meaningful lives.
To help CAG address how its campus will be best poised to meet its future, gifts to the Building Excellence Fund support the development of a master site plan and upgrade of the campus facilities, which enhances programs from Pre-Kinder through Grade 12.
Metro x Metro
CAG sports facilities have a profound impact on student wellness and success. Far more than courts and scoreboards, these fields are stimulating and familiar places where students develop physical and mental skills, learn the meaning of effort and share it with their peers.
Promoting our sports curriculum, we have embarked very excitedly on remodeling the school track, and we want to invite you to participate.
Every person who contributes with unrestricted donations gives CAG flexibility and skill and the great gift of their confidence.
Unrestricted giving provides flexible resources, allowing CAG to attract and retain the most talented teachers and staff, provide excellent academic and extracurricular programs, and renew and evolve CAG’s physical infrastructure.
A call to action - testimony of a donor of this fund
There are many ways to support CAG´s mission, and CAG appreciates gifts-in-kind, such as computer hardware and software, supplies for sports, supplies for laboratories, library archive collections, musical instruments, and other supplies that otherwise need to be purchased. While in-kind donations are often received from corporations, individuals can also contribute.
All gifts-in-kind are reviewed, accepted, and officially acknowledged. For more information to discuss gift-in-kind, please contact Sandrie Alvarado at the Development Office.
